Pencil drawing by Penny

My talented and lovely daughter, Penny Hackney, has just designed her own web page here.  She is offering her fabulous drawings for sale, from your own photographs of family, friends or pets.

Make sure you check out the details and take a look at the sweet art work she has already done.

Am I a proud Mum?  You bet!

ARTtastic January challenge

3D chalk artist, Jenny McCracken's beautiful 'My Blue Angel' is the inspiration for this month's challenge at ARTtastic blog.

I love angel wings and have included them on my layout, also Jenny's awesome 3D effect inspired my use of texture and the different height levels of my embellishments.

Thanks for looking!

Artastic blog - September challenge

SEPTEMBER CHALLENGE - "THE PROPHETIC CALAMITY" BY SHANNON CREES (GRAFFITI ARTIST)

SEPTEMBER Challenge - "The prophetic calamity" by Shannon Crees (Graffiti Artist)
Criteria – Black background and solid use of geometric patterns

This is the rather intriguing challenge set this month at Artastic.

And this is what I did with it.

My (usually) beautiful granddaughter, Beth, is seen here dressed as Zigi Zombieson for Book Week at
Gum Flat Primary School last week.

Scary, eh?

My doodly painting and pen work was inspired by the exposed brain.
I hope she is not starting a new trend!

Love you Bessie!

Scrap-fest weekend.

I have been home alone this weekend, with the family all away doing other things.  My time has been spent productively  catching up on the great challenges over at Home and Scrapped.

We had another fun Step By Step on Friday with plenty of chat online, and I managed to complete two more of Heather's  mid-week sketches from her ScrappySketches blog........

This is my Creative Design Team challenge for March..........use doodly lettering on a page featuring yourself.

Creative Design Team member Jewels set this challenge.  I love all the vintage style papers here, they go well with my old family photo.

This is my take on Sarah's March challenge, based on a magazine page, head on over to H&S, to follow the Creative Design Team's fab challenges for this month.

 This is Heather's MWS 9-12.......

And this companion page is from the Friday night SBS.  Friday is always a fun night at H&S, and it gives me something fun to to while hubby is watching the footy.

Weekend

Dennis and I had a busy weekend driving the truck, loaded with a large piece of farm machinery, over the Great Dividing Range to Inverell.  Eight hours in the truck bouncing and jolting over the shocking, pot-holey roads was a nightmare.  Luckily, I had a day with my lovely family as reward!  It is always a joy to be there at Sunnydale.  The girls and I had fun playing with Penny's inks, doing more doodly magic while the menfolk played with the tractor and seeder.  The weather was sunny and warm, and a pleasant change from the rainy humidity of the coast.

The huge seeder we delivered

Beth at work in the kitchen
Bethany made her famous choc muffins which won first prize at Inverell Show.  She was awarded Champion for her cooking in the Under 15 years section, and she is only nine!  Our own little Masterchef!

Some fun doodly pages from my art diary.

Family visit.

Alpha doodles

Still life at art class.  Lots of different textures from fluffy teddy, and rusty bucket to glass ball.  Those little jade leaves drove me nuts!

More fun with the pen!

Last weekend I had the best time visiting the family at Sunnydale.  My dear niece collected me and one granddaughter from home and did all the driving.  We had some marvellous girly time together including attending an art class with Penny, then spending time with all the girls making doodly, arty letters.  Here is some of the fun stuff we did.
