Chair woes

I have scrubbed and sanded my old chair.......and discovered that two of the rungs have been chewed by rats! It has spent too much time living in the shed! Luckily, not the turned rungs, just the plain. Never mind, I have some wooden rod which will make admirable replacements if I can persuade my DS to have a go at fixing it.

I cut out a new seat cushion from foam, using my electric carving knife......it worked quite well! Found the fabric too, so I am making slow progress. The timber is quite rough, so I will repaint it, it is not worth the effort of stripping if the timber is damaged. Anyway, I am a bit over the brown wood look, and a painted chair will be charming.
