O - is for ornaments

Seven year old grandchild helped make these paper ornaments today..........a fun thing to make while babysitting!

Just four strips of paper, 12in by 1in, joined by a brad in the middle of the strips, fan them out and join the tops of the strips with another brad. Decorate with flowers or other embellishments if you like. Simple.

I have a pile of pretty little vintage hankies but in this day and age of tissues, I have no idea what to do with these redundant little beauties..............got any ideas?

More fabrics for the next quilt project and fabric swap at Mardi's blog.........these are from Lea at A Little Bit of Pretty. She is raising funds for the Westmead Children's Hospital and has almost reached her target of $1000. Wonderful Lea is raising this by selling vintage sheeting fabric suitable for patchwork, and ALL the money goes to charity. Check out her blog!

Rainy weather this week has given me the opportunity to finish a few Christmas craft projects. I am progressing through my list, still have some shopping to do, but hey, it is not even December yet!

I thought it suited this pic of the old shed on Pen's farm.

Mia and smoochy pup, January 2011.

My tribute to our dear little Poppy who died last month.

It has rained non-stop for a week but what better hobby to fill in the dreary days than scrapbooking?

Hope it was a good one for you!

Flowers, twinchies and a layout

Waiting for Santa is my version of the H&S Sketch Challenge for May. The flowers are handmade by Sylvia and Heather, I received them in the last flower swap. Nice!

Love those gorgeous smiles, this pic was taken by Penny as the girls were decorating the Christmas tree.
These are some of the sweet little twinchies I received in the swap organised by Kerri Smith. I stuck these in a frame so that I can enjoy them every day. Thanks girls!

Making flowers for a swap has taken up a bit of time this week, but it has been a bit too cold to go out, so I am happy to stay inside in the warm and create.

How was your week?

Mixed media

I have signed up for Christy Tomlinson's She Art Workshop, and can't wait to get the drum on her mixed media gems.

Meanwhile, I have had a little play with paint, inks, stamps, rub-ons, fabric, stitching and embellishments to create this fun canvas for one of the grandchildren. Heaps of mess and fun!

Mini albums

Mini album for Mum.........
More mini albums
Remember Mum celebrating her friend's 100th birthday last month? Well, I made her a mini album of the photos I took on the day, she is going to take it to oldies club tomorrow for show and tell............gotta love that!

The design is based on a mini album that my lovely and talented daughter, Penny Hackney, made for me ages ago.

Anniversary gift.

I managed only one OTP project last year........a shadow box that I gave to DH to celebrate our wedding anniversary in November 2010. The wonderful Mistra Hoolihan (check out this talented chick in my Blog list) guided me with the painted Dusty Attic chippy........I am so happy with the way it turned out. Also. I used left-over lace from the sewing stash and hand made dodgy paper flowers.
