Mia Taninaka's 'Salvation' is this month's inspiration for the October Challenge at ARTastic.
The criteria is wood and/or feathers - real or fake!
Here is my take on the challenge. The background cardstock is inked around the edges and sprayed with glimmer mist to echo the owl's feathers. I used some wood grain paper from stash and a couple of feathers, chipboard letters, inked, and a hand cut branch and leaves, just because!
This barn owl was caught up on a barbed wire fence, and luckily, found by Dennis who carefully rescued him and brought him up to the house. The only suitable container I could find was the washing basket, where 'Owly' patiently waited while I phoned the wildlife rescue service.
We duly delivered him to his carer, where he was carefully looked after and fed on a yummy diet of frozen mice, but sadly, he did not recover and died a week later. He was a lovely bird, and his memory is worth preserving.
Thanks for looking!

Hi Angie it is usually shock that kills these beautiful birds! Your layout is lovely. I like how you tired the elemtns together so well. Thank you for joining us at ARTastic this month.
This is a lovely take on this month's challenge, Angie. That is such a sweet photo. Such a shame the little bird did not survive though. I love your tree branch....it looks fabulous.
Ahh a fellow bird lover - I recall only last year holding up a long stream of traffic while I plucked up a kookaburra who had been hit and stunned by a car on a busy road and was in dire danger of being run over. The only thing I had on hand was a spare towel I keep in the car and my son's backpack, the contents of which were duly dumped and became a dark home for the little guy while I took him to a local vet. So I love this page Angie - great work.
This is such a lovely page, and love the photo...I love owls! thanks for joining in ARTastic this month!

A beautiful photo of a beautfiful owl, how sad it had to die! The theme is although just perfect for the ARTastic challenge, with the feathers and everything, great job!
A sweet but sad story. How nice to scrap it and remember the little things that cross your path. Your page is peaceful and I love the natural colours you have used. The feathers add a nice touch. Thanks for sharing with us at ARTastic this month.
